Weight control might bring to your mind: "Diet", though it can refer to what you eat daily, and not only, to a special eating plan.

Well, let's go beyond that point, and think of this instead: "Lifestyle". Because when you come to that, you find out how easy it gets to become healthier.

If you really want to see some results that last longer, (meaning, for a lifetime), it is important not to focus only on the food you eat and the amount of mass you have. Health is the truly one reason why we all must be concerned about this topic either if you need weight control to lose or win some kilograms.

Now read this: -Being able to "git our clothes" doesn't involve special foods, complicated foods combinations, specific supplements, or a difficult discipline to follow-. It comes all, as everything in life, on to having a plan and doing it, no matter if you want to fit in a smaller size, go to weight loss articles or put some kilograms up because you are too skinny, check weight gain articles.

We all know the science already: "Eat healthy and become physically active". Well, take that Nike's brand advice: Just do it!!!

So, how do you find a healthy weight?


A short definition will serve: It means that from your overall body mass, you have the right amount of body fat. Want to know how much you have?

There are specific analysis of body fat with x-ray and other technologies.

Then, let's add that it also means to you:

* All the possibilities it can give you through energy and movement

* Allows less risk factors for disease

* Prevents premature aging

* Makes you feel comfortable with your looks

* Gives you quality of life, etc.

There are 3 major components to measure this, according to the National Institutes of Health:

1) Body mass index (indicates weight status).

2) Circumference of your waist (location of fat in your body is associated with many conditions like: high blood pressure, coronary artery disease, diabetes, etc). "Central fat" is the most dangerous because increases risk for this conditions.

3) Personal medical history (values 1 and 2 give you a good picture, but not the whole, so, personal history tells about: health condition, familiar inheritance, degree of physical activity, personal risk factors (like smoking), etc.

10% I am 21-30 pounds (9.5-13.6 kgs) above my desirable weight.

5% I am 31-50 pounds (14-23 kgs) above my desirable weight.

11% I am more than 50 pounds (23 kgs) above my desirable weight.
