Midlife women may benefit their health from different exercise and fitness disciplines
For midlife women some things just can't be ignored. Have you started feeling with less energy? Sometimes you can't avoid talking to your friends about certain "aches and pains" that were not ocurring a little ago to you? So, what's going on with your body? For start, everybody grows and changes, you're not the exception. Here are some examples of what is going on with your body or what will go on if you're looking at this page just for information and prevention (good if you're doing that!): + From age 30 the body lowers the production of Coenzyme Q10, indispensable for the process of energy production by the cells. Yes, this is just one of the reasons why you feel so tired. + Skeletal bone mass begins to decline also around 30 years, and the loss accelerates in the inmmediate postmenopausal years. + The closer a woman is to menopause age (around 50 years average), estrogen production drops producing many different symptoms: flushing, sleep problems, calcium levels drop and so the risk for bone mass loss is higher, etc.

The North American Menopause Society reported in 1994 that increased levels of aerobic fitness could be preventive of bone loss. This conclusion is supported by studies like the one you can read on the American College of Sports Medicine from 2002, where they measured the aerobic fitness (VO2 max) and found that it was predictive of bone mineral density, associating less bone density on women with lower physical activity levels. So women, keep walking! Would say the tag phrase of the not healthy beverage from Johnny W. What about those women that don't exercise the body, and TV viewing is a capital activity of their daily lives!... Well, in a study that related TV viewing with cardiovascular fitness, moderate (3 hours/day) and frequent (more than 4 hours/ day) of screentime was associated with significant lower levels of cardiorespiratory fitness. Hey women! No matter if you're in your midlife!, exercise is wonderful! You cry less than with soup operas!! Is enjoyable and 100% health.
What are the effects of screentime on fitness

Life is exciting!!! Don't regret it. If you achieve higher levels of fitness, you can not only enrich your life but it also helps to lower the risk for developing cardiovascular diseases and hypertension to mention a few. Another study reported in the American College of Sports Medicine in 2004, says that low cardiorespiratory fitness was a significant mortality predictor in women. Low fitness is a more consistent predictor of higher mortality risk than other conventional factors in each body mass index weight category.
