How can you get your kids to eat healthy and enjoy it, avoiding eating disorders?
Many of my friends are mothers now, and a usual question they have is how to get your kids to eat well, healthy and like it? without being "pushy" towards them, something that can scare parents because none of us would like to push our kids to an eating disorder, we all know the one and only intention is to help them grow healthy. In my experience I will share with you some tips to help with that, as well as some stories that could resemble to yours maybe. Some of my friends suggest that there is some age at which children are simply not very interested in eating. Is it? Or what surrounds the ritual of the mealtime?? What happens every meal? What did we cook or got for food?, How is the food presented, how much do we serve of it, etc. NOT EATING ENOUGH IS NORMAL? I observe that my son is super anxious on meal times (and in general he is always active), and has a hard time staying still. What I have noticed is that I usually stand from the table to serve, turn what is in the fire, etc. Mmnn (Making my mind...). Giving it a serious thought, I might have been a factor by which my kid doesn't focus on his meal time. So, I give you out the first tip to get your kids to eat well and like it: Every kid learns by following example. Settle a schedule for meals and turn them into a nice routine. Family sitting by the table, together, sharing, eating and enjoying. If timing is a problem and not all can be together, try to reproduce anyway the conduct of giving the meal its importance: the specific time for getting the foods that help recover energy for playing and for sharing. HIGHLY AVOID DISTRACTIONS Other thing that "scares a kids hunger" can be other conditions that distract them, for example, if I take my son to a restaurant and there's a playground available, games take priority, not food. So here comes tip number two to get your kids to eat well: There most be less distractions on meal times. You can have soft music or anything that helps the atmosphere for all to relax, and dedicate meal time to meal time. Games can come later, TV comes later, etc. By the way, is not a good idea to mix TV and mealtime.

KIDS ONLY LIKE A FEW FOODS? Obviously this depends on the age of the child. When too young, they're still developing their senses and digestive tract, but any kid can be taught to try different foods. When the mother is pregnant, she can start teaching the baby by eating the healthy stuff needed for the good development of the kid and also for gathering the nutrients that a woman needs during this stage.
Later, through the breast milk, the mother will give the child different tastes by the food she eats, until the baby is ready to try some solids. And is not a coincidence that first foods given to a young baby are fruits and vegetables. Healthy aren't they?
This takes me to Tip number three to get your kids to eat well, healthy and like it: When the kid grows, it is important to keep on to healthy meals and snacks as much as possible. Avoid giving them candies, sweets, foods high in flours, sugar, fats, or low caloric meals (sweetened with aspartame, or other artificial sweeteners). Research shows that meals with this ingredients, attract bad bacteria to the colon that good bacteria are not able to fight if they lack in number, leading to a colonization of the intestines with bad bacteria, which produces less hunger of healthy foods and more hunger of the foods I wrote. This is not the only thing that happens, but this starts a "chain process" which makes the organism to lose strength of the immune system (the intestine accounts for the production of 70-80% of the immune cells), nutrients are poorly absorbed and toxins (most of them produced by bad bacteria and by products of low nutrient foods), cannot be removed. Then comes more consequences, a kid that is not well nourished and is not absorbing the adequate nutrients, starts developing health problems such as anemia, hipocalcemia (low calcium which may lead to poor dentition, fragile bones, etc), and others.

Tip number four if you want to get your kids to eat well, healthy and like it: I highly recommend to deworm a kid at least twice a year. A good probiotic formulation can help as well to help the child recover and maintain enough good bacteria on the colon. This not only would help the kid to improve its immune system, but will also improve eating, absorption of good nutrients and elimination of toxins. I wouldn't recommend probiotic commercial formulations (on liquid forms) as much as a lyophilized formula (a powder form that can be reconstituted with water), which makes it pretty convenient, and can be disguised on juice, milk or any other beverage, and which has a higher amount of excellent quality (and not just commercial) good bacteria of the most active variety available. If you want to know more about the probiotic formulation or the topic above, I suggest you send me a comment using the contact link below. And I invite you to continue reading.
