Comparative Guide to Nutritional Supplements

Nutrisearch Comparative Guide to Nutritional Supplements is a serious publication which has reported the laboratory tests of many different brands of products available in the market.

This is a definite resource for anyone serious about optimal nutrition and anti-aging defence and a roadmap to understand the remarkable protective power of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants.

In this guide, over 1,500 products of US and Canada are scientifically rated and compared. I heard from the author (a highly respected biochemist from Canada) in a conference, that the work was independent. They offered the different manufacturers to enter into a comparison study.

From the more than 29,000 products available worldwide, just 1,500 decided to enter the study (which makes me think... What happened with the other 27,500 products??? Why the companies didn't want them to be tested?).

As a chemist, it was very important for me which was the procedure for the product rating criteria, so I included a brief summary of the different aspects that were tested: (Just a note before)...

I don't mean to bore you by reading all the specifics, but for professional standard, I'll present them as the guide shows, read if you like, but what I want to show you, is that testing a product and furthermore, complying will all of this, is not a simple thing as you'll see:

1. Completeness.- Product has full spectrum of nutrients?

2. Potency.- What is the level of potency or each nutrient?

3. Mineral forms.- How many are in their most bio-available form?

4. Bioactivity of vitamin E.- Does the product contain alpha-tocopherol?

5. Gamma tocopherol.

6. Antioxidant support.- Does the product contain vitamin C, E (alpha and gamma), vitamin A, beta-carotene, alpha lipoic acid, lycopene, coenzyme Q10, and selenium?

7. Bone health.- Does the product contain vitamin D, K, C, B6, B12, folic acid, boron, calcium, magnesium, silicon and zinc?

8. Heart health.- Does the product contain vitamin E, beta-carotene, coenzyme Q10, calcium, magnesium, l-carnitine or acetyl-l-carnitine, procyanidolic oligomers, phenolic compounds, and lycopene?

9. Liver health.- Does the product contain vitamin C, n-acetyl-cysteine, selenium, vitamin B2 and B3?

10. Metabolic health.- Does the product contain vitamin B3, B6, B12, C, E, biotin, coenzyme Q10, chromium, magnesium, manganese and zinc?

11. Ocular health.- Does the product contain antioxidants, vitamin C, E, A, lutein and zeaxanthin?

12. Methylation support.- Does the product contain vitamin B2, B6, B12 and trimethylglycine?

13. Lipotropic factors.- Does the product contain choline or lecithin and inositol?

14. Inflammation control.- Does the product contain EPA and DHA acids, linolenic acid, gamma tocopherol, alpha lipoic acid, vitamin C, flaonoids, procyanidolic oligomers, green tea, olive, turmeric extracts?

15. Glycation control.- Does the product contain l-carnosine, vitamin E, C and alpha lipoic acid?

16. Bioflavonoid profile.- Does the product contain a mixture of bioflavonoids like isoflavones, quecitrin, etc.?

17. Phenolic compounds profile.- Does the product contain phenolic compounds which include olive, curcumin, and green tea extracts?

18. Potential toxicities.- Does the nutritional supplement contain vitamin A and iron and these exceed 100% of the upper limit of intake prescribed by the US Food and Nutrition Board?

According to the guide, headlining the list are those supplements that represent the best of the best within the Stand-alone Products category.

This category means having attained and unsurpassed five star rating, having demonstrated compliance with current Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and having verified, through independent laboratory analysis, that what is on the label is on the bottle.

The real testimony comes from results

What the guide says, is just an argument for me, what I have seen for myself (by using the supplements I chose) and that I shared with my best friend, there's a huge difference between the product I took when I was pregnant (just a "placebo"), and the one I'm having now.

I saw my best friend improving her quality of life by taking this supplements, I couldn't believe she was able to work again and have a normal active life as she likes. From the deep feeling of my heart, I feel very comforted that I could help her and I can't thank enough this science that gave my friend her life back.

Since then, I have seen many others now improving their health as well. I've shared my story too of the benefits to my own body. -I feel with more energy, healthier, and as my skin is receiving the optimal amount of nutrients, I see it has improved. And I love what my lab exams tell me about my body's key health factors!

This are no magic supplements, no "miracle scam" at all. They work. There are serious tests, organisms and certifications that support the company's claims, and that, believe me, for a skeptical chemist like me, results and safety of this was just a: "Why not try this".
